PLUM GHOST VINEYARD
Nahalem, Oregon
Plum Ghost is a small batch, family-run vineyard nestled in Nahalem, Oregon, where the legacy of a great-grandfather’s costal photography breathes life into a modern yet soulful brand. Creative direction is derived from Grandfather Jack’s own hauntingly beautiful images of fog rolling over the bay. Named after a photograph of Jack, barely perceptible, at the edge of the beach with a camera, Plum Ghost evokes the essence of the vineyard’s creative founder. Thus, this brand identity pays homage to family lineage, while enticing a new generation of contemporary connoisseurs. Fat aluminum cans grouped in six-packs allow for the convenience of enjoying a serving anywhere in nature. Cinematic copy that suggests flavor is subjectively abstract, is wrapped around the cans in stylized razor thin san-serif type, with juxtaposed organic splashes of color, reminiscent of Helen Frankenthaler’s ethereal paintings. These graphics signal a sense of place and history that feels as timeless as the vineyard itself. Layered artistic elements dance across packaging, print and digital, transforming the simple act of opening a can into an experience that’s both visually and emotionally connected to the wine family’s storied past and vibrant future.
